First, and most importantly, if you have a room with a balcony, THE BALCONY DOOR DOES NOT LOCK. There is a lock, but the French doors can EASILY be pushed open while "locked". For us, there was a balcony right next to ours so anyone staying in that room could easily hop over to our balcony, push the doors open, and do whatever they wanted. Bring some zip ties or some rope to tie the balcony door handles together. Second, they have a single wifi access point in the lobby. Your room's proximity to the lobby will determine your internet experience. For us, it BARELY connected and would disconnect often (in our room). If we were in the lobby, the WiFi was great. Third, the A/C can only run when you have your room card *in the room*, and it's not a very strong A/C (and they only give you one card). It was 90 degrees F outside, and it took about 3 hours for the A/C to cool the room to a comfortable temperature (around 70F). The A/C was set to 50F but never got below 70F for the day we stayed. Fourth, the nightclub next door plays dance music until 3 AM. It's quite loud and has lots of bass thumping, definitely bring earplugs and/or play white noise from your phone if you wanna sleep before 3 AM. Finally, the location is amazing and there are lots to do around. The front desk people were really nice and the hotel looks really beautiful. Know what you're getting yourself into and you'll have a great time!

This hotel is worth the price you pay for it. There are issues but for the price, it is a good value. The location is superb - all of Playa is walking distance away. There are a variety of places to eat, drink or be merry very close by - so that's a plus. I didn't think the bed was comfortable - others who like park-bench-firm mattresses might disagree -so that's a draw. It feels like an older hotel so there were small things that weren't quite right. Yes bugs could get in through cracks in the door but we didn't really see any. Yes, it was loud at night from the club next door. Yes, there were small maintenance issues that needed attention (please fix the bathroom window-lock) but none of them were deal-breakers. All in all, if you were paying a premium price for this hotel you'd be disappointed - but you aren't, so it's OK.

Beautiful pool, nice spacious room, i loved the balcony and its size! Friendly staff and great location! Everything is close by. Great local vegetation around pool area. Its noisy from the clubs next door at night but i had such an active vacation that it didnt bother me and i slept like a baby. Paulina & Lulu are amazing staff members! Authentic Mexican!

Stay here if you want a great quiet, cheap and clean room near the 5th Av. The service at this hotel was so perfect that we booked with them again for our second year vacation to Playa.
